Kim Pelzar, Principal and Founder of Dogan Pelzar Solutions, is an experienced HR professional with strengths in both strategy and execution in a wide array of industries. She differentiates herself from other HR professionals in her passion for and understanding of the overall business. In her permanent and consulting roles, Kim has been a true business partner, seeking solutions that are aligned with the companies’ business strategy. Kim has proven experience in creating and transforming the HR function, improving organizational effectiveness and leading teams of generalists and specialists responsible for compensation, benefits, performance management, employee relations and legal issues/compliance.
Kim is skilled at familiarizing herself with a business and building effective relationships with its people quickly and efficiently in order to identify personalized solutions that make sense for the business and its culture. She is approachable and comfortable working with all levels of employees, from front line to senior management.

Prior to founding Dogan Pelzar Solutions, Kim was Vice President, Human Capital at Benchmark Assisted Living where she focused on Total Rewards Strategy, Talent Acquisition and Development and HR Strategy Alignment. Previously, she held Human Resources leadership roles at Investors Bank and Trust and Jack Morton Worldwide, where she built the Human Resources infrastructure and re-engineered the performance management program. She also held Human Resources positions at General Cinema Theatres and International Paper.

Kim’s experience spans diverse industries including healthcare/hospitality, real estate, financial services, brand communication and marketing, media and entertainment, manufacturing, distribution and recruitment firms.

Kim has her Masters of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame, where she concentrated on International Business and Human Resource Management. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Boston College where she majored in Marketing. Kim co-authored “Managing Envy and Jealousy in the Workplace,” article published in the Compensation and Benefits Review magazine.

Kim is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, Human Resources Leadership Forum (New England affiliate of HRPS), the Northeast Human Resources Association, and the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce. During her tenure at Benchmark Assisted Living, she sat on the Executive Human Resources Roundtable of the Assisted Living Federation of America.
